The Coral FLNG is recruiting a HSEQ Coordinator for Maputo.

Role:

Implement and plan for HSEQ activities to ensure Company’s ongoing compliance with applicable HSEQ obligations including good international industry practice, Mozambican regulations and internal Company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the HSEQ team by clearly communicating HSEQ expectations and accountabilities and defining tasks and assignments;
  • Maintain the HSE IMS in place, aligned with the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001;
  • Develop and implement the Quality Management system aligned with ISO 9001;
  • Develop, implement, and maintain all HSEQ procedures necessary to ensure that the Company’s HSEQ requirements are met;
  • Verify compliance with all HSEQ national, regional, and local laws, Company’s requirements, codes, and international standards;
  • Oversee implementation of HSEQ performance reporting on a periodic basis;
  • Be fully aware of Company HSEQ practices and standards which is required to comply with including legal and other requirements;
  • Support implementation of HSEQ activities for Operational Readiness & Assurance;
  • Support the application for the necessary HSEQ Permits & Consents;
  • Support the HSE & CI Manager in ensuring that all potential HSEQ hazards and related risks are identified, evaluated, and mitigated prior to the commencement of any activities;
  • Support the HSE & CI Manager in planning and implementing HSEQ training, audit, and emergency drills annual programmes;
  • Support the HSE & CI Manager in ensuring that HSEQ resources and budget needs are met;
  • Support the HSE &CI Manager in defining contract HSEQ requirements on a case-by-case basis;
  • Conduct HSEQ tender phase, contract award and execution with support of the C&P department;
  • Liaise with ERB to ensure alignment on HSEQ activities;
  • Conduct activities in line with yearly and 4-year HSE Plans providing a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all personnel; 
  • Support the HSE & CI Manager in ensuring that all potential environmental and health impacts are identified related to the Company operations and relevant mitigation and management measures are in place;
  • Oversee implementation of the Environmental & Social Management Plan to ensure that activities are conducted in an environmentally sound manner;
  • Oversee implementation of the ESAP ensure the Project’s ongoing compliance with the Applicable Standards during operation;
  • Support the HSE & CI Manager in ensuring that operations have adequate equipment to carry out the contracted activities and plan all controls and inspections aimed at ensuring the respect of HSEQ compliance obligations;
  • Advise the site personnel in positions that are considered HSE sensitive;
  • Support the HSE & CI Manager in managing HSEQ contractors to provide adequate and sufficient PPE, emergency response equipment, materials and personnel, waste management services and environmental monitoring;
  • Conduct periodic HSEQ audits/inspections to assess compliance of the operational activities with Company requirements and support third party audits;
  • Support regular and formal performance review meetings with contractors and the operational team measuring and recording HSE KPIs.

Key Activities:

  • Coordinate the HSEQ team and support the HSE & CI Manager in any HSEQ given activity;
  • Implement the HSE IMS and obtain/maintain internationally recognized certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001);
  • Oversee implementation of the Environmental and Social Action Plan to comply with Lenders’ standards;
  • Oversee implementation of the Environmental and Social Management Plan to comply with Mozambican and international regulations; 
  • Support in the application for Permits and Consent to ensure the Project’s ongoing compliance with applicable standards;
  • Perform additional tasks, as required by the nature, specificities, and operational requirements of the Company.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to MSc Degree level with an environmental/engineering background;
  • At least five years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.

  • LNG process familiarization;
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001;
  • At least a recognized qualification in Safety Management – NEBOSH.
