MozParks is recruiting (1) Legal Support Officer (m/f) for Maputo.

JOB SUMMARY
MozParks is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Support Officer to support the company’s daily legal and contractual operations. He/She will be responsible for writing and reviewing legal documents, ensuring compliance with local legislation, maintaining the legal archive, and supporting contract management processes across departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contract & Legal Document Management
- Draft, review, and update various types of contracts and agreements, including:
- Employment contracts
- Contracts with service providers
- Client and tenant agreements
- Lease and rental agreements
Draft official legal documents such as:
- Term Sheets
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)
- Formal commercial proposals with legal implications
- Ensure all documents are legally sound and comply with Mozambican laws and internal company standards.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with the Sales team to support the preparation of contracts, proposals, and client agreements.
- Collaborate with the Finance department to ensure legal accuracy in payment terms, penalties, and compliance clauses.
- Support HR and Operations in preparing and maintaining employment-related documentation.
Legal Compliance & Monitoring
- Monitor the validity of contracts and ensure timely renewals, amendments, or terminations.
- Standardize contract templates and ensure consistent use across departments.
- Track legal deadlines and obligations, maintaining a proactive calendar of expiring contracts and necessary follow-ups.
- Prepare and document internal legal procedures when required (e.g., termination processes, warnings, non-compliance notices).
- Flag potential legal risks and escalate to external counsel when necessary.
- Represent the company in administrative or judicial proceedings when needed
Legal Administration & Filing:
- Work closely with the Archive Coordinator to maintain an organized legal archive (physical and digital), ensuring all legal documents are properly stored and easily retrievable.
- Register and categorize all signed documents, agreements, and supporting materials.
- Maintain updated logs of all active, pending, and archived contracts.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Law, Legal Sciences, or equivalent (Licenciatura em Direito).
- 1-3 years of experience in a corporate legal or administrative role (law firm or in-house).
- Good understanding of Mozambican labor law, contract law, and commercial regulations.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in Portuguese (English proficiency is a strong advantage).
- Well-organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite and basic digital filing systems.
