P&O Maritime Mozambique S.A. is currently seeking to recruit 6 Maritime Operations Interns based in Maputo City, who will support the Operations Department in carrying out daily port and vessel operations activities, contributing to safe, efficient, and compliant maritime operations. The internship aims to provide hands-on experience in marine logistics, planning, and documentation in a dynamic port environment.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
- Learn and assist in the implementation and monitoring of HSSEQ policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support daily safety inspections and help track corrective actions.
- Gain experience in compiling incident and accident reports and follow-up documentation.
- Learn how to organize safety trainings, drills, and awareness campaigns.
- Maintain HSSEQ records and documentation (digital and physical).
- Learn how to support internal audits and compliance assessments.
- Assist with data collection and preparation of HSSEQ performance reports (KPIs).
- Participate in risk assessments and job safety analysis (JSA).
- Contribute to environmental monitoring and waste management activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Nautical/Maritime educational background will be considered an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of HSSEQ principles and relevant national regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English (both verbal and written).
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform independently and under minimal supervision.
