About the Job
Minas Moatize Limitada is currently seeking a skilled Mining Supervisor to join their mining company based in Moatize, Tete. As a Mining Supervisor, you will supervise, coordinate the mining activities to extract coal, and perform other services in support of the mining.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Safety and Risk Management:
- Prioritize safety above all else.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks related to equipment, personnel and processes.
Operational Leadership:
- Supervise day-to-day mine activities, including monitoring, excavation and hauling.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments (geology, engineering, maintenance) to achieve production targets.
Production Optimization:
- Coordinate with shift supervisors and operators to maintain efficient production schedules.
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and address equipment downtime promptly.
Personnel Management:
- Motivate a diverse workforce, including miners, equipment operators and maintenance staff.
- Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes teamwork and accountability.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Optimize resource allocation while maintaining cost efficiency.
Environmental Stewardship:
- Minimize the mine’s impact on the surrounding ecosystem.
- Comply with environmental permits and regulations.

Education or Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field (relevant experience may substitute).
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, processes and safety practices.
Years of Experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in mining operations, with at least some time spent in supervisory roles.
Languages:
- Portuguese and English written and spoken fluently
