Aldelia is recruiting a Procurement Manager (Local & Expat) for Montepuez.
Summary:
The Supply Chain and Stock Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement processes and inventory management within our mining operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that materials and services are sourced efficiently while maintaining optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted production.
Responsibilities:
Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s operational goals and budgetary constraints;
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for materials, equipment, and services needed for mining operations;
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions;
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks;
- Collaborate with various departments to forecast material needs and generate accurate requisition orders;
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Stock Control:
- Manage the inventory management system to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained to meet operational demands and reduce excess inventory;
- Oversee the accurate tracking and reporting of stock levels, movements, and discrepancies in the warehousing process;
- Implement best practices for inventory control, including stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes;
- Analyse inventory turnover rates and develop strategies to improve efficiency in stock handling and storage;
- Coordinate with the logistics team to plan and execute the timely delivery of materials to various site locations;
- Develop and maintain accurate records of stock levels, discrepancies, and related documentation for auditing purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
- Expertise in procurement management procedures and best practices;
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in supplier management;
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives;
- Strong knowledge of procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Hands on experience with procurement management software and databases;
- Strong commands of English, both writing and speaking.
